A late season wedding in Spain

Weddings are not always easy to arrange at the last minute, but when we had a call, mid season, from a proud father about planning a wedding for his daughter the same year, we took on the challenge! Opting for an October wedding meant that we had just enough time to get everything in place. We visited the parents of the couple at their villa in Mijas, originally the idea had been to hold the wedding there, but due to the close proximity of the neighbours, hosting a wedding with a late party could have been a problem, so it was decided to hold the evening part in a venue.

The couple were to take their vows in the Norwegian church in Calahonda, the very first same sex wedding that had ever been conducted there, so a historical first too! Then they were to enjoy a garden cocktail at their villa and next move onto the chosen venue Avanto, for the evening meal and party! A three location wedding can be a tricky task logistically, we had to move the 80 guests around, but it all went smoothly with our wonderful transport people providing an excellent and reliable service. It was a beautiful day and the sun beamed down throughout the afternoon!

A church wedding, followed by a garden cocktail, a drink on the terrace at Avanto, then as it cooled down for the evening, moving inside for a fabulous meal and lots of dancing!

The couple chose subtle, natural decoration and flowers by Bunches the florist, with fresh green leaves and white roses, creating a classy look. The head table was adorned with a candelabra and the various candle arrangements on the tables provided a soft, warm light to dine by. Totally romantic! Anne Lise and Hege enjoyed a sun kissed afternoon, but as the October sun set and the night turned colder, they moved inside for the wedding meal in the restaurant at Avanto, with views overlooking the sea. After Dinner our Dj cranked up the music and the dancing continued into the early hours!
