Which style of guitar player do you need?

There are many types of guitar player and sometimes for the inexperienced, it's a little confusing to know which style you should be looking for!  Generally, for a wedding ceremony or cocktail hour, you might choose a Classically trained guitarist, but for more upbeat music, or pop, the acoustic guitar would be a better choice, most often accompanied with vocals too. Spanish or Flamenco guitar would offer that much more traditional Spanish sound. Then, of course, you have the electric guitar, most often used by bands playing rock, blues and jazz style music! 

The guitarists featured on this page play Classical guitar and Spanish flamenco guitar, they do not sing but play instrumentally. Classical guitar music is the most popular for weddings because it offers instrumental versions of popular international songs and renditions of the most classic wedding music, such as, for example, the famous Canon in D by Pachelbel.  Classical guitarists are most often booked to play music for the wedding ceremony or to create that sophisticated instrumental music for the cocktail hour (Champaign hour). Many of these classical guitar players can double up as instrumental Spanish flamenco guitar players too, that traditional sound of southern Spain, or can also play classical renditions of Spanish music if that is the vibe you wish to create!
